Workshops
Training that empowers educators with the knowledge and understanding of how to practically implement proven techniques into the classroom.
Topics
Engaging training tailored for educators. These are not your typical "sit-n-get" trainings but rather highly engaging trainings that model the practices being learned and how they are applied int he classroom. In addition to the trainings offered below, custom trainings can be developed depending upon the need of each audience.
Stick the Learning
Based upon the book, Stick the Learning focuses on what can be done in every classroom to ensure that students remember what they have been taught. The techniques that participants can easily be implemented in any classroom and will ensure that students retain what has been taught.

The Power of Sleep
Does sleep really matter? Absolutely—and this session will show you why. Discover how quality sleep transforms learning, health, and daily performance for both students and educators. Learn to assess sleep needs, adopt strategies for better rest, and unlock the incredible benefits of a good night’s sleep. You’ll leave with practical tools to improve well-being for staff and students, in and out of the classroom.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand, or so, Words.
Tired of text-heavy slides that lose your audience? Discover how to make your presentations pop and your message stick! In this interactive session, you’ll explore the Picture Superiority Effect—the science behind why visuals are remembered far better than words—and learn how to design slides that engage, clarify, and captivate. You’ll leave with simple design strategies, creative inspiration, and the confidence to turn any presentation—whether for students, staff, or stakeholders—into one your audience will remember long after it’s over.

Busting Brain Myths
Join us on a fascinating journey to discover the truth behind some common myths about how the brain works. These misconceptions can sometimes lead to less effective teaching. In this session, we'll learn how to tell the difference between scientific facts and popular myths, making sure our teaching methods are based on real brain science. Let's work together to ensure our students get the best education possible, grounded in accurate and reliable information!

Building a Foundation
In this fun and engaging session, we will explore how our brain handles learning and why some challenges are actually good for us! We'll learn about cognitive load theory, which helps us understand how to keep students from feeling overwhelmed, and the concept of desirable difficulties, which shows us how the right kind of challenges can help students learn better. Come join us to discover practical tips and tricks to support your students' learning in the best way possible!
Time Wasters and Brain Boosters
Educators are constantly bombarded with research on best practices, but how do these strategies translate into real classrooms with real students? This session bridges the gap between research and practice by exploring evidence-based teaching techniques that enhance student learning. Teachers and administrators will leave with practical strategies they can apply immediately, along with tools to support instructional shifts that improve student outcomes. Whether you’re looking to refine your teaching approach or support educators in your school, this session will provide concrete examples and actionable takeaways to bring research to life in your classrooms.
ACE the Test
Ace the Test is a research-based training focused on optimizing student performance during testing season through intentional planning and application of the science of learning. Educators will examine three key drivers of test-day success—Area (testing environment), Clock (timing, scheduling, and cognitive load), and Empowerment (motivation, nutrition, sleep, and readiness factors). Designed for school- and district-level teams, this session emphasizes collaboration as participants develop a practical, context-specific plan to implement these strategies during testing season. The focus is not on new initiatives, but on aligning existing practices with research to ensure students are positioned to perform at their best.
Coming in Summer 2026: Better Together by Design
Collaboration is often encouraged in classrooms, yet not all collaborative learning leads to meaningful learning. This session clarifies what effective collaboration is—and is not by examining the impact of student-to-student feedback, structured routines, and purposeful questioning techniques. Participants will experience and model these strategies throughout the session, gaining a clear understanding of how intentional design increases participation, accountability, and depth of thinking. Educators will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to improve learning in their classrooms and schools.

Coming in Summer 2026: What About Math?
Educators across the country are embracing the Science of Reading—but a critical question remains: What about math? Is there a research-based science that explains how students actually learn mathematics? In this session, we will explore what cognitive science, learning science, and mathematics research tell us about effective math instruction. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how students develop mathematical understanding, why some instructional approaches are more effective than others, and practical strategies schools and classrooms can use to improve math learning for all students.
